Ingredients for Red Velvet Trifle
- One box of red velvet cake mix
- 4 oz cream cheese
- 8 oz cool whip
- One teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 5-10 strawberry
Cooking Directions for Red Velvet Trifle
- First, Use store-bought red velvet cupcakes or follow the red velvet cake box directions to bake a cake. You can make this in advance and put it in the freezer.
- Second, Get a regular glass or wine glass ready to assemble the ingredients.
3. Next, Remove the leaves from the strawberries and slice through the middle to get the hidden heart shape of the strawberry slices. Slice the strawberries into 4 or 5 pieces.
4. After that, whip together 4 oz of cream cheese, cool whip, and vanilla extract using an electric mixer or with a spoon until it is soft and creamy. Put this whipped cream into a pastry piping or ziplock bag, and cut the corner. Using a piping bag helps to create less mess when layering.
5. At last, cut the cake into small cubes. Crumble 1-2 pieces into the bottom of the glass to make the first layer. Then fill in a layer of whipped cream. Put four heart-shaped strawberry slices along the side of the glass, and fill that layer with strawberry slices.
6. Repeat this process, starting with red velvet cake. Finally, garnish the top with a strawberry slice.
Immediately serve the red velvet trifle, or refrigerate it for a day.
